Salt Lake City, Utah. 05 November 2003. QSI Corporation is offering a new and emerging technology called Power-over-Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af) on their QTERM®-G70 graphic terminal. This innovative technology combines power and data on the same CAT5 Ethernet cable, allowing users to replace older proprietary power sources and eliminating the need to run 115 VAC power to devices on a wired LAN.

QSI Corporation believes they are the first in the industry to offer Power-over-Ethernet on rugged graphic terminals. The QTERM-G70 is an Ethernet-enabled graphic terminal based on a revolutionary new object-based graphic terminal programming language called Qlarity® (pronounced Clarity). The QTERM-G70 features a robust list of industrial grade hardware features and options including a 320x240 lighted graphics LCD display (color or grayscale); 10Base-T Ethernet with TCP/IP support; touch screen with optional PS/2 keyboard connection; EIA-232, -422 or -485 serial interface; and 4 Mbytes Flash / 16 Mbytes RAM in a NEMA-4, CE certified housing. The Power-over-Ethernet option will be available on the QTERM-G70 starting in December 2003.
